Yoga in the Season of Advent

I love December. Whilst many people are already thinking of Christmas, I enjoy the quiet attentiveness of Advent, one of the most overlooked seasons of the year. This December, my classes have focussed on the aspects of Advent I most want to cultivate - stillness, waiting, patience, wonder. It has been a real privilege to work together with my students to use yoga to help us connect with the stillness within and, maybe to take those feelings out into the hustle and bustle of the pre- Christmas world!

If you find yourself overwhelmed this Christmas, take a moment to centre, notice your breath, close your eyes or soften your gaze. You will be doing yoga!
